Dud's girlfriend Mamie wants an ice cream cone, but Dud is broke. He rushes home and steals a coin bank then chops it open with an ax, only to find that he's also split in half the one coin inside. Dud's mother sees this and spanks him...

Goodrich Dirt is entranced by a hypnotist who uses him in his show. When Goodrich tries to mimic his powers on a policeman, he is beaten up and deposited in the mental asylum in the violent ward. Goodrich then attacks the mental ward guard and moves into his office.

Dud imagines the glory to be derived from killing a lot of animals.

An animated film with balloon texts, featuring the cartoon character Andy Gump. Andy is plagued by dogs everywhere: in the tram, on the street, and even at home. To his dismay, his wife has borrowed the neighbours’ dog. She sends her husband out to get meat, but he is trampled by a pack of dogs that smell sausage.

The character of Goodrich Dirt - a squat, bearded fellow whos a hapless dimwit - was the creation of Wallace Carlson, one of Brays animators. In Goodrich Dirt, Cowpuncher hes hired as a ranchhand-a profession for which hes in no way suited.

Dreamy Dud and his dog, Wag, are down-hearted because they haven't the money to go into a picture theater and see a Chaplin picture. A dime rolls out of the theater which someone has dropped and Dud picks it up. In the theater they see Chaplin fighting with a donkey. When he flirts with a girl, whose back is toward him, a policeman tries to arrest him. But the donkey and the policeman collide and exchange kicks, Chaplin laughs when the policeman is kicked over. Then the donkey kicks Chaplin and he flies into the air and lands in a lake. Dud wakes up and finds his father bending over him asking what he is dreaming about.

Dud is a disappointment to his parents.
