The path of Paraguayan immigrants who drive to Asuncion and then arrive in São Paulo. They are rural workers, musicians, vendors and underemployed people. Two parallel worlds: the Guarani culture and the Brazilian adventure in São Paulo juxtaposed with Paraguayan songs and the Guarani language, spoken by the main characters.

After 20 years of exile in Paris, Gustavo returns to his native city São Paulo. Back home, he encounters a place which no longer exists. His old friends and family members have changed, almost beyond recognition. He tries to recapture the past, and make some sense of his life, that of his friends and family, and the present state of his native country.

People who moved from São Paulo, a large city, to the countryside, come back to see a play. Later, they learn the driver of their chartered bus has disappeared. Now, on the street, at night, they have to face themselves.

A middle-aged, wealthy man who lives in an upscale neighborhood in São Paulo, goes to put on his shoes and finds that his foot is no longer the same – it has changed for the worse. This gesture is the trigger for a reflection on life, the passage of time and the difficulty in understanding the present day.

Professor Singer can be assessed as an enlightenment: he was also an educator, even (or above all) when he made politics. A major character in the intellectual life of São Paulo in the last seventy years, he narrates his trajectory, from his arrival in Brazil in 1940, escaping the Second World War, in 2016, in the leadership of solidarity economy movements. The film tries to show the beauty of a man thinking.
