This classic Greek comedy revolves around the constant fights between Zikos who works as a clerk at a small grocer's shop and the shop's owner. So, they decide to leave their respective jobs and hide at some remote hotel. Luck brings them together without them knowing of each other's identity as they share a room.

He is transformed into an organized, consistent and good working man, and falls in love with his sister's partner (Stella Stratigou) and discovers that the fourth chair was held by his uncle, who set up this whole story to motivate him and make him active.

A down-to-earth grocer yields to pressure and decides to follow his wife's advice to put to good use his deceased Jewish associate's gold sovereigns, even though he cherishes his simple lifestyle. In the end, can money bring happiness?

Iraklis (Hercules) Leontopoulos is a low-paid employee with a heart of gold, who inherits a building together with its tenants. His easy disposition is his biggest problem because he can not collect any rents. In addition, he can not make any evictions nor can he demand any increase in the rents. He finds it difficult to overcome them, as he tries to raise money to marry his eminent heart (Martha Vourtsi). His relative agrees to pay, but asks Kosma to marry the Spanish singer (Martha Karayiannis) of the cabaret she runs, so that she can stay legally in Greece. Marriage becomes a secular event and is publicized, creating in Kosmas many problems and misunderstandings with his fiancé. Ultimately, a series of happy times will cancel the fake marriage, mother's surgery, and leave Kosmas the money to marry and start married life with greater financial comfort.
