Ramanand Sagar

Ramayan is a highly successful and phenomenally popular Indian epic television series created, written, and directed by Ramanand Sagar. The 78 episode series originally aired weekly on Doordarshan from 25 January 1987, to 31 July 1988, on Sundays at 9:30 a.m. IST. It is a television adaptation of the ancient Indian Hindu religious epic of the same name and is primarily based on Valmiki's Ramayan and Tulsidas' Ramcharitmanas. It is also partly derived from portions of Kamban's Ramavataram and other works.

Alif Laila is a TV series based on the stories from The Arabian Nights. Produced by Sagar Films, two seasons were made; the first aired on DD National and the second on SAB TV. The series covers well- and lesser-known stories from One Thousand and One Nights.

Luv Kush is an Indian television series created, written, produced, and directed by Ramanand Sagar. It is a follow-up to Sagar's highly successful Ramayan, featuring mostly the same cast and production crew. Luv Kush covers the last book, the "Uttar Kand," of the ancient Indian epic Ramayana, following Ram's coronation, especially focusing on his children Luv and Kush.

Krishna is an Indian television series created, written, and directed by Ramanand Sagar. The series originally aired weekly on Doordarshan. It is an adaptation of the stories of the life of Krishna. Shri Krishna was first broadcast on Doordarshan's Metro Channel from 1993.In 1996, the DD Metro broadcast was discontinued and the show was broadcast from the beginning on DD National. In 1999, the show moved to Zee where the remaining episodes were broadcast. The entire series was re-telecast on Sony starting 2001 and later on Star. This serial was also telecasted in Mauritius – Mauritius Broadcasting Corporation as early as 1991, Toronto- Channel 57, Nepal –Nepal TV, South Africa- M.Net, Indonesia- P.T. Cipta Television, Jakarta- Pendidikan, Italy- Fifth Remini Cinema International Film Festival, London- U.K.- T.V.Asia.[2][3][4]

Vikram Aur Betaal was a children's television programme aired on DD National. The series contained stories from Indian mythology that aim at teaching kids life lessons while entertaining them. The concept of the program was based on Baital Pachisi, a collection of tales about the semi-legendary King Vikram and the Vetala, a vampire-like being.

The region under Maharaj Singh's control is under-going drought and famine-like conditions, and the Maharaj orders that the treasury be made open so that his public does not suffer. His orders are not followed by his Senapati, Dhurjan Singh, and Mahamantri. When Singh finds out and confronts them, they kill him. They send their men after the Maharani and the Rajkumar, Amar Singh, however, Sher Khan helps them to escape. They hide Amar in Bhagwan Shri Ganesh's temple, and a poor gypsy couple find and adopt him. In the meantime Sher Khan and a devastated Maharani start organizing a rebellion amongst the people.

Two friends with opposite personalities, the rich but sensitive Pran and the womanizing Gopal both have affairs with two mountain girls while holidaying in the valley of Kashmir. While Pran and Reshma's love is true and reciprocated, Gopal is a womanizing villain, who disregards the faithful Neela and condemns her to wait faithfully for his return with the barsaat (rainy season).

Widowed Mrs. Lal lives with her two sons, Ram and Ratan; an unmarried daughter, Sheela; Ram's wife, Parvati and her children. While Ram is employed in a mill, Ratan is studying engineering in Calcutta. When Ratan returns, he is offered a job at the same mill, falls in love with a Typist named Manju, much to chagrin of Malti, the daughter of the mill-owner, Sewakram. When Ratan finds out that Sewakram has been defrauding the employees, he decides to form a union, a move that is opposed by Ram, who is very devoted and loyal to Sewakram.

Suraj, an NRI, moves back to India, only to realise that the caretaker of his property, Kalicharan, is now running a drug racket on his land. He helps the police force to track down Kalicharan.

Meena, a wealthy, educated girl, has been promised in marriage to Sunder, a sheltered young man who has received an extremely traditional religious education. Displeased, Meena sets out to find a more suitable candidate, but is taken in by Manohar, a gold-digging conman. Finding Sunder to be clueless about the world, Manohar is soon manipulating him as well as Meena in his schemes to gain possession of Meena's fortune.

Beena falls in love with Rajan after he rescues her from some goons. Soon they marry and she is pregnant. The trouble starts when Beena spends the night with Gopal. What compels her to do this?

Delhi-based Kamla lives a wealthy lifestyle along with her widower dad, Dindayal, and is a popular stage singer and dancer. She goes for a holiday in scenic Kulu, meets with flute-player and singer Sarju, and both fall in love with each other and both decide to get married. Kamla returns home and convinces her employer, Kunver Shamsher Singh, to let Sarju also sing on stage. Shortly thereafter Sarju and his sister, Janki, move in with them. Sarju is given a new look and name, Suraj Kumar, and soon Kamla and Suraj become a popular stage and singing pair. Kamla arranges for Janki's marriage with Agra-based Ashok, while her dad also finalizes her very own marriage with Suraj on the same day. On the way back from Agra, Suraj's has an accident, he does survive but is grievously injured. After he recuperates he finds he cannot speak due to a brain blood clot. Janki's marriage takes place and she re-locates to Agra.

Adivasi Mahua lives a poor lifestyle in a fishing village along with her widowed dad. One day the local Poojary comes across a seemingly menacing looking male, feeds him, and asks Mahua's dad to look after him. This male has no memory and they name him Kishan. Shortly thereafter Mahua and Kishan fall in love and get married. After about 2 months Kishan goes to the city and does not return home. A frantic Mahua and her dad go to the Police as well as to the city to search for him albeit in vain and return home. Mahua continues to worry about Kishan and sets out on her own to try and locate him. She meets with a doctor who informs her that he recalls treating a male fitting Kishan's description and gives her his Bombay address. Mahua travels to Bombay and locates Kishan's house.

Shortly after independence India faces terrorists attacks in Assam. A group of concerned citizens, who are not connected with the government, decide to do something to stop this carnage. Spy Sunil Mehra (Dharmendra) must travel to Beirut and foil the terror group.

Recently widowed Thakur Vikram Singh left India the same time the British did along with his son, Anand, for England. Years later, Anand has grown up to be a doctor and travels to Bombay, India, to work together with Dr. Pradhan for six months, thereafter he must return home and get married to Lalita, who is the daughter of Thakur's Legal Advisor, Jackson.

A young man goes on a quest to find his mother and to restore justice in a kingdom that has fallen into the hands of traitors.

After completing his medical studies, Gopal (Rajendra Kumar) takes a break and goes on holiday in Kashmir. There he meets with Usha (Sadhana) and both fall in love with each other. Back home, Gopal has a close friend, Ramesh (Feroze Khan), whose dad (Brahm Bhardwaj) wants him to marry Usha as an arranged marriage. Ramesh likes Usha and is willing to marry her. In the meantime, Gopal finds out that Ramesh is going to be married to Usha and decides not to pursue his romance with Usha. When Ramesh and Gopal's sister, Sarla (Nazima) convince Gopal that Usha only loves him, he reveals a dark secret to them, which may convince them that he is not right for Usha.

In a village which is located in a beautiful hilly area full of greenery and water bodies, there lives a villager called Gopi (N. T. Rama Rao) along with his sister Janaki (Vijaya Lalitha) by rearing goats. He leads a happy life by singing and playing the flute. Once Radha (Vanisri) a famous stage artist & singer comes to his village on break. There, she becomes interested towards Gopi by listening to his flute & music. They spend time together and Radha gradually becomes fascinated by him. Before she starts back, Gopi finally proposes to her and she gladly accepts.

Lucknow-based Nawabzada Aslam lives a wealthy lifestyle along with his dad, Bakar, and mom. He writes poems under the pen name of Raj Lakhnavi, and is a close friend of Iqbal. One day he meets and falls in love with Salma Banarsi, a Banaras-based Courtesan. When his parents arrange his marriage with his foreign-returned cousin, Mumtaz, he informs them that he loves Salma and incurs their displeasure so much so that his dad shoots him, and he gets hospitalized. When he recovers fully he is shocked to find that Salma has not only accepted Iqbal as her lover, but has also taken a lot of money and jewelry from his mother. He takes to alcohol in a big way and swears to exact vengeance against Salma by getting married to Mumtaz and forcing Salma to sing and dance at his wedding.
