Thodoros Maragos or (alternative form in latin alphabet) Marangos (Greek: Θόδωρος Μαραγκός; born in Filiatra in 1944) is a Greek film director. His work spans film, TV and documentaries. He is best known for his film Learn How to Read and Write, Son (in Greek: Μάθε παιδί μου γράμματα), a satire on fascism and one of the best anti-Junta films of all time. He has won four awards in the 14th Thessaloniki Film Festival (September 24–30, 1973) for his movie Get on Your Mark (original title in Greek: Λάβετε θέσεις). His box office major success, the 1981 film Learn How to Read and Write, Son, has also won four awards in the 22nd Thessaloniki Festival (October 5–11, 1981). From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Miracles On Alexandras Avenue

Life on a plot of land in Petralona in three seasons of the year. An amusement park is set up in an alana in the fall, the plot is deserted in the winter, and in the spring it serves as a stadium where the school's gymnastics demonstrations take place, which during the Junta become another tool of disorientation from the regime. A composition of moments of life as it flows in one of the then less glittering corners of the capital, where a space acquires its own essence. The passage of time sculpts the character of a piece of land, leaving its marks on it, just as it would on a person. Moments of joy and vitality give way to a rainy melancholy, like mood swings at the change of seasons. Until interest, an external force, dissolves everything during the construction of a building. The end is inexorable and inevitable.
Plot

An announcer and a friend see frustrated people at a train station waiting for a train that will never arrive. They then urge them to stay where they are and face the difficulties of their daily lives.
