The movie takes place in four periods: the first, a group of female Christians are raped and crucified in 18th century Japan. The second deals with a man who beats his cheating wife and her lover. The third, is set in WW2 where inquisition soldiers torture, rape and abuse female traitors, and the fourth story deals with soldiers raping and abusing suspected female spies.
During their honeymoon, Koichi and Junko were attacked in a train toilet. From that day on, their sex life with Koichi did not go well, and even after they returned from the trip, Junko continued to live an empty life. Junko, who lives in a noisy housing complex, is concerned about what others think, but she tries her best to get her life back together with her husband. Set in the Edo Era, the film opens with a group of women being convicted of various crimes. The rest of the film is given to graphic depiction of the tortures the women endure as part of their sentences.
