The American professional wrestling promotion WWE has been broadcasting PPV events since the 1980s, when its classic "Big Four" events (Royal Rumble, WrestleMania, SummerSlam, and Survivor Series) were first established with the company's very first PPV being WrestleMania in 1985. The company's PPV lineup expanded to a monthly basis in the mid-1990s following the introduction of the In Your House series of pay-per views before expanding even further in the mid-2000s during the first WWE brand extension. Following WWE's original brand extension in 2002, the company promoted two touring rosters, Raw and SmackDown, representing its television programs, Raw and SmackDown. The traditional "Big Four" continued to showcase the entire roster, while the remaining PPV events alternated between Raw and SmackDown cards. In March 2007, WWE announced that all subsequent PPV events would feature performers from all brands. In 2008, all WWE PPV events began broadcasting in high-definition.

ECW Extreme Fancam is the official bootleg series of ECW events which aired from 1995 until the company's closure in 2001. It accompanied ECW Hardcore TV and ECW on TNN as one of the primary showcases of ECW wrestlers. Events were produced and filmed by the ECW production crew and presented as underground, guerilla-style coverage for the 18+ market. The series concluded in 2001 when the company folded.

WWF Jakked is a professional wrestling television programs produced by World Wrestling Entertainment. The show aired syndicated weekly from 1999 until 2002 and replaced WWF Shotgun Saturday Night. WWF Jakked showed the same matches as WWF Metal with a different announce team. Originally produced under the World Wrestling Federation banner, the show was eventually replaced by WWE Bottom Line in syndication.

WWE Velocity was a professional wrestling television program produced by World Wrestling Entertainment. It replaced two syndicated WWE shows, Jakked/Metal. Once a weekly Saturday night show on Spike TV and on Sky Sports 2 in the UK on Sunday mornings, Velocity became a webcast from 2005 to 2006. The newest episode would be uploaded to WWE.com on Saturdays and be available for the next week. Older webcast episodes were also archived. It was the counterpart show to WWE SmackDown and WWE Raw and was recorded before the television taping of SmackDown. The Mullets is a sitcom that was created by producers Bill Oakley and Josh Weinstein. It first aired on UPN in 2003, and was cancelled in 2004 due to poor reception. It starred Michael Weaver, David Hornsby, Loni Anderson, and John O'Hurley. The pilot featured The Dudley Boyz and La Résistance, where O'Hurley's character interrupted the WWE Raw tag team match and left the whole arena confused including the staff but with a laugh track added in.
