Crossbow follows the adventures of William Tell and takes place in the 14th-century in Switzerland. William Tell and his son are imprisoned by the tyrannical Gessler. As Governor of Austria, Gessler plans to stop the Swiss uprising. Having split the apple on his son's head with his crossbow, much to Gessler's chagrin, there is no stopping William Tell's legendary strength and skill.

When Lise's car bumps Antoine's bike, they recognize each other from a brief fling 20 years before while at the Sorbonne. The "black robe" in the title of this suspense film belongs to a female lawyer, Florence Nat who has just lost a case in which she defended Simon Risler, a man wrongly accused of murder. Risler escapes before he can be put in prison, and seeks help from attorney Nat in finding the real killer, partly by going after the police inspector who framed him in the first place. A retired surgeon, in the process of setting up a drug rehab clinic gets involved in solving Risler's case, and soon the solution seems to be pointing to high-ranking figures with every desire and ample means to keep the truth well-hidden.

An adaptation of "Eden Arabie".

During the inter-war period, a young German woman and her little girl arrive in a peaceful Provencal village. They have come to find the father of the latter, a Frenchman who was formerly a prisoner in Germany. But she arrives on the very day of his funeral. This unexpected arrival will cause trouble when the young German woman discovers that he had hidden his living conditions in Germany from the whole village, conditions that were not as uncomfortable as he claimed in his letters. Honorin, the mayor, will take in the two foreigners, while the village will be divided between those who are benevolent and those who are opposed to the presence of these two nationals of the former enemy country.
