From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Joseph "Joey" Ryan Meehan is a retired American professional wrestler from Southern California best known by his ring name Joey Ryan. He is also known for his time on the independent circuit, working for promotions such as Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG), which he founded with five other wrestlers and where he held the PWG World and PWG World Tag Team Championships, NWA Championship Wrestling from Hollywood, for which he was the head booker of from January 2011 to August 2011,[7] Lucha Va Voom and Wrestling Retribution Project, where he worked as "Chase Walker". He also worked for the short-lived MTV promotion Wrestling Society X and in Ring of Honor (ROH) in 2009-2010. He has also worked for WWE as local talent. In 2007-2008, he was a trainer at Ultimate Pro Wrestling's training school and is currently the head trainer at Mach One Wrestling's training school in Anaheim, California. He worked as an assistant trainer for the television series Hulk Hogan's Celebrity Championship Wrestling. In 2012, he was featured as a trainer on RuPaul's Drag Race episode two. Also in 2012, Meehan made the top 30 finalist of 22,000 in the Major League Baseball Fan Cave contest. In 2012, he was signed by Total Nonstop Action Wrestling. He is a former NWA World Tag Team Champion with Karl Anderson. On October 14 at Bound for Glory, Ryan defeated Snow, following interference from Matt Morgan, to earn a TNA contract. On the October 25 episode of Impact Wrestling, Ryan and Morgan entered the ring, after Rob Van Dam had successfully defended the X Division Championship against Zema Ion, with Morgan hitting him with the Carbon Footprint, after which Ryan posed with his title belt. The following week, Ryan defeated Van Dam in a non-title match with help from Morgan. On November 11 at Turning Point, Ryan unsuccessfully challenged Van Dam for the X Division Championship. On December 9 at Final Resolution, Ryan and Morgan unsuccessfully challenged Chavo Guerrero, Jr. and Hernandez for the TNA World Tag Team Championship, after losing to them via disqualification. Ryan and Morgan challenged Guerrero and Hernandez again on January 13, 2013, at Genesis, but were again unsuccessful in winning their titles. After not being seen for several weeks, Ryan returned on March 10 at Lockdown, losing to Joseph Park in a singles match. On July 3, 2013, Ryan was released from his contract, along with several other TNA talents including Crimson, Madison Rayne and Christian York. On December 14, 2015 it was announced that Ryan signed with Lucha Underground and would appear on the show's second season. His character was introduced as an undercover Los Angeles police officer, and the new partner of fellow undercover officer Cortez Castro (although their cover will be that they are enemies). He lost his debut match on the February 17, 2016 episode of Lucha Underground against Cage. On the May 25 episode of Lucha Underground, Ryan defeated Mascarita Sagrada. During the third season, Ryan allied himself with Dario Cuerto, revealing Castro is a cop. They started a feud, ending in a Police match with an Aztec Medallion on the line.

Ring of Honor Wrestling is a professional wrestling television series produced by Ring of Honor. The series features the professional wrestlers of Ring of Honor competing in matches, along with interviews from the wrestlers. Combined, these elements create and further the storylines of ROH. The pilot episode was taped on February 28, 2009, and aired on March 21, 2009. The show aired weekly on HDNet in the United States. On February 11, 2010 it was announced that Ring of Honor Wrestling would be airing in Italy on Dahlia TV. The show was voted as the Best Weekly Television Show in the 2010 Wrestling Observer Newsletter Awards. The series' 100th and final HDNet episode aired on April 4, 2011. The series returned on the stations of Sinclair Broadcast Group' on September 24, 2011.

Championship Wrestling from Hollywood

Wrestling Society X was a short-lived professional wrestling-based television series produced in 2006 by Big Vision Entertainment. The weekly television series formerly aired on MTV, MTV2, MTV Tr3s, and over a dozen other MTV outlets throughout the world. WSXtra, an extra program featuring WSX matches and interviews not broadcast on television, was available on the promotion's MTV website and Video on Demand. WSX was presented as a secret society of wrestling that used a venue referred to as the WSX Bunker, complete with an artificially worn-out looking ring for its matchups. In matches held within this venue, falls count anywhere was the stipulation. The program also stood out due to its unorthodox approach to pro wrestling; this included frequent use of highly expressive plants, crowd sound effects, electrical sound effects, visual effects, and camera shaking when a wrestler would fall prey to electrical weapons. Along with wrestling, WSX featured musical guests playing at the start of each television broadcast, with some band members joining the broadcast team after the performance.

All In (2018), promoted by Cody Rhodes and The Young Bucks, was a landmark independent wrestling event held on September 1, 2018, at the Sears Centre Arena in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. Featuring talent from NJPW, ROH, CMLL, Impact, AAA, MLW, and the NWA, it drew over 10,000 fans, becoming the first U.S. wrestling event outside of WWE or WCW to do so since 1993, and its success led directly to the launch of All Elite Wrestling (AEW) in January 2019.

Ring of Honor: Survival of the Fittest 2017 was a three-night professional wrestling event. It featured the 12th Survival of the Fittest tournament, where winners from designated matches on Nights 1 and 2 advanced to a 6-Man Elimination Match on Night 3. The winner of the final match was declared the Survivor of the Fittest and earned a future ROH World Championship match. Notable participants included Cheeseburger, Silas Young, Shane Taylor, Punishment Martinez, and Matt Taven. In addition to the tournament, there were other exciting matches, including Kenny King defending the ROH World Television Championship against Joey Ryan.
