Dansk Melodi Grand Prix is an annual music competition organised by Danish public broadcaster Danmarks Radio, which determines the country's representative for the Eurovision Song Contest. The festival has produced three Eurovision winners and thirteen top-five placings.
Pat and Patachon live in the attic of an old house along with a number of other curious kinds of people. One of the residents is a fortune teller, who tells Patachon that he will inherit a fortune and marry one of the two sweet choir girls who live next door, and whom he happens to be in love with. The two friends don’t think much more of it and instead head off to work, as models for a tailor. They stroll through the streets in sharp suits, in the hopes that the two choir girls will see them and think that they’re wealthy men, who simply live in the run-down house to study the bohemian lifestyle.
The merchant Blomberg is out in the countryside with his daughters and housekeeper when the idyll is suddenly shattered. The daughters head off to have fun with two young guys from Copenhagen who are on a road trip, and the vagabonds Pat and Patachon seize the chance to interfere for their own gain. The preserved material is the original Swedish version titled 'Landsvägsriddare', translated to 'Tyvepak' in Danish. The film was a huge economic success to the then Swedish owned production company Palladium. It is the first film, in which Pat and Patachon appear as a team, although not in their final constellation: As always, Pat is played by Carl Schenstrøm, whereas Patachon is embodied by Aage Bendixen instead of Harald Madsen. There is another 'Tyvepak' from 1915, which is directed by Lau Lauritzen Sr. as well. This film is a heavily revised version of the 1915-film. (stumfilm.dk)
The rich couple Jytte and Ole spend their lives partying and having fun. After another evening and night of partying, the couple decides to get divorced. The next day they tell Uncle Frederik, who instead proposes a bet: for a year, Jytte and Ole will live on 400,- DKK a month, so that they can experience how ordinary people live. They agree to the proposal and move into a small apartment. Gradually, they learn to cope, but give up the bet after a month. When Ole tells Uncle Frederik that they don't want to be with him anymore, Frederik unfortunately has to tell them that he has ruined their fortune. When Ole gets home, he learns that Jytte is pregnant. This changes their lives to a great extent - Jytte and Ole have suddenly found meaning in life.
Police reporter Erik Brandt is sent off for some rest and recreation after solving a murder under the nose of the police. But his well-earned holiday turns out to be a lot more hectic than planned, when the resort is rocked by as string of brutal murders. Georg Jacoby’s Jokeren is a light-hearted entertainment picture set during the carnival in Nice, a romantic comedy with a touch of melodrama. A young artist, fatally injured in a car accident, foolishly entrusts a batch of compromising love letters to Borwick, a crooked and unscrupulous lawyer, instructing him to destroy them. Instead, Borwick proceeds to blackmail the woman who sent the letters, Lady Cecilie Powder, married to the straight-arrow Sir Herbert Powder. Lady Cecilie gets help from her spunky younger sister Gill. In turn, she draws in Peter Carstairs, a debonair adventurer known to all as “the Joker” – the card that trumps all others. When the Joker repeatedly foils Borwick’s schemes, the crooked lawyer ups the ante, trying to incriminate his adversary Carstairs and expanding his demands to include marriage to Gill. But as the characters converge at yet another lavish carnival celebration party, it becomes clear that one card does indeed trump all the others: the Joker!

But, for the record, Thomas writes him a receipt on the back of a sandwich note. Then Thomas starts building his hotel - and then Birkehøj dies. Thomas' entire fortune is eaten up by smart money men, and he ends up as a farmhand. He only gets a job again when a maid is laid off. Thomas becomes a housekeeper, and in his new job he encounters justice. A hotel owner Ravn from Ringkøbing shows up as a guest in the house.
Amalia is the housekeeper at C.A. Nilssons home, they argue and she leaves him. He employs a servant and decides to travel to Ă…re to find his future wife.
Tove (Bodil Kjer) is a modest and ordinary girl dreaming of winning the competition to become the next big movie star. She applies with a photo of her more beautiful sister Grete (Gerda Neumann). The competition, however, is already rigged.
FyrtĂĄrnet and Bivognen are gardeners at a residence for young women. Here they are friends with budding actress Eva, but when the three reveal one evening during the performance of an illegal theater performance, they are kicked out. By detours, they get on board a schooner, where Fy and Bi play up to dance and get seasick, while Eva still has her course set against the sloping boards.
Proprietor Madsen is trying to charm the kitchen maid, Stine, and gives her a lottery ticket for Christmas. If she is lucky, she will win the most beautiful farm in the country, so Madsen writes down the number of the lottery ticket and keeps a watchful eye on the lucky numbers. A danish silent film from 1924
An American gangster nicknamed "English Joe" has fled across the Mexican border with his gang, consisting of four men in addition to himself. The American police are after them because of a bank robbery in which they killed several of the bank's employees. But "English Joe" soon comes up with a new plan that can bring them to safety for a while and at the same time give them the opportunity for a new coup. An old engineer who has worked at a weapons factory in Mexico has traveled home to his own country to complete an epoch-making invention: the silent machine gun. The men are ordered to Denmark, where the old engineer now lives.
Princess Lola has been exiled from her native Pelicania after one of her relatives usurped the throne. She is now the celebrated prima donna of the Revue Theatre, arousing rapturous applause from audiences night after night. However, the princess has her most devoted admirers behind the scenes. The young theatre doctor Ove Helmer loves her, and our two old friends, Pat and Patachon – one now a prompter at the theatre, the other a make-up artist – regard her with the warmest affection. When the princess finally gets the opportunity to return to her native Pelicania, Pat and Patachon are eager to come along to help her assert her position. Even though the Gommesens have been married for 25 years, they are still in love. They wake up happy on their silver wedding anniversary, but the peaceful atmosphere does not last. A fast-paced little farce about the racing enthusiast Hurtigkarl and his sports-mad dream – to see his favourite runner hitched with his daughter Musse. Since Musse would rather be with hairdresser Svipp, Hurtigkarl has to think on his feet: A race between the two rivals must decide the matter – the winner gets to be with Musse until the end of days.
