Roman Kachanov

Fitil is a popular Soviet/Russian television satirical/comedy short film series which ran for about 500 episodes. Some of the episodes were aimed at children, and were called Фитилёк, Fitilyok, Little Fuse. Each issue contained from the few short segments: documentary, fictional and animated ones. Directed by various artists, including Leonid Gaidai who presented his famous trio of Nikulin, Vitsin and Morgunov into the cast. It was called in USSR as "the anecdotes from the Soviet government".

A prince discovers an enchanted beauty turned into a frog by Koschei the Immortal. After Koschei steals her again, the prince goes on a dangerous quest to free the land of the evil.

First animation about Gena and Cheburashka. Gena the Crocodile works as a zoo animal at an urban zoo. Every evening, he returns home to his lonely apartment. Gena gets very tired of playing chess against himself and decides to find some friends to play with. Animals and people respond to advertisements that he posts all around the city. First, a girl named Galya comes with a homeless puppy, who is then followed by Cheburashka. They decide to build a house for all the lonely citizens of the city, but a mischievous old lady, Shapoklyak, tries to stop them in different ways.

An animated adaptation of the classic story of Nils Holgerson, a naughty boy who is transformed to a very little dwarf and goes through many adventures, flying with a band of wild geese.

It is a screen version of an Indian national fairy tale. Malicious and greedy rajah wishes to get a wonderful antelope who strikes gold coins by hoofs. The country boy rescues an antelope, but rajah, threatening the boy, compels the antelope to serve him but he is severely punished for it.

A modern fairy tale about how a boy, who was called a coward, decided to take revenge on the guys with the help of a magic pill, but soon realized that being vindictive is not good and judging others based on first impressions is unfair.

Fourth animation about Gena and Cheburashka. Gena finds out that Cheburashka is unable to read. Luckily, the next day is September 1, the first day of school, and Gena decides to take Cheburashka to school so he can learn. After failing to buy a school uniform, they go to the school anyway, only to find it is closed for repair. Shapoklyak uses Lariska the Rat to stimulate the workers to repair the school quickly. As the school also doesn't have enough teachers, Gena and Shapoklyak volunteer to be teachers.

Zhenya is a young girl who find a old beautiful house in the city when she followed a dog that he stole her donuts. At the old house, a old woman lives. The old woman offers to Zhenya a magic flower. When Zhenya pull up a petal of the flower, she can make a wish. In this moment, Zhenya should decide correctly her wishes.

Based on Korean folk tales. Every year a terrible Dragon flies over the distant mountains and burns fields of the industrious farmer Pak. The peasant is convinced that it is possible to overcome the Dragon only with courage and strength. Overcoming numerous obstacles, Pak pulls out a magic sword and, after reaching the lair of the Dragon, summons him to battle.

The tale about an old, henpecked man whose new friend fulfills all desires of his wife.

Based on a Russian folk tale.

Animated adaptation of a Ukrainian folk tale. Forest thieves — a bear cub, a hare, and a fox — keep sneaking onto a grandfather’s homestead, causing trouble for him and his granddaughter. To teach the little bandits a lesson, the grandfather builds a straw bull and covers its sides with tar. He sets the bull out on a clearing. The curious thieves gather around the strange creature, and one by one get stuck to its sticky, tar-covered sides…

Based on the Chinese folk tale. Long ago, three brothers Liu lived in China. They were so similar that even their own mother discerned them on colored ribbons. The first brother could command fire, the second could drink the sea and return it back, and a third knew the language of birds, animals and fish.

Before going on an overseas journey, a merchant father asks his three daughters what they would like him to bring back for them. The eldest asks for a shining tiara, the middle asks for a frame through which her face would always appear young, and the youngest (Nastenka) asks her father to bring her a beautiful scarlet flower like one which she saw in her dreams. Her elder sisters laugh at this simple wish. The father's trip is successful and he finds everything that he came for, with the exception of Nastenka's scarlet flower. Nevertheless, the ship heaves off and they begin to head back while the father scans the lands around him for a scarlet flower.

Gena the Crocodile and Cheburashka decide to go to the sea on vacation. Shapoklyak steals their train tickets, so they are kicked off the train. On their way home, the duo, with Shapoklyak's help, stops hikers from poaching and a factory from polluting a river.

The tale about a magic fish and resentful lover whose fiancee went to a lazy fool.
