Pete, an eighteen year old Isle of Wight deck chair attendant, meets fifteen gear old Swedish exchange student Annika. After a holiday romance, he follows her back to Sweden.
It's 1975, and Martin is a teenager looking to break out of a stifling home environment ruled by his alcoholic father and long-suffering mother. When Martin's pal Micke suggests they get jobs together as waiters at a resort off the Swedish coast, Martin is all for it, but before long Micke finds better things to do and Martin is left on his own. The presence of pretty fellow server Jenny is a major consolation, but to his surprise, guileless Martin is soon chosen as the protégé of Gösta, the resort's short-tempered manager. Gösta clearly likes Martin and makes him his right hand man, which gives Martin a crash course in the seedy side of life when he discovers Gösta has a number of other business interests, not all of which are legal or ethical.
Ă…ke lives under oppressive conditions. The father, a painter, spends his salary on drinking with his buddies.

The series follows the events during the fall and winter of 1991–92, when John Ausonius shot a total of eleven people with an immigrant background. The series partly follows Ausonius during the execution of the crime, and partly the police's detective work. This farce cocerns Sweden's King Gustav (Per Oscarsson who plays all the lead roles). The royal monarchs of three major European countries are patiently or not-so-patiently hovering on the sidelines while watching the future King Gustav closely. No single king appears to possess the brains he was born with, so history seems to be made by default, as it were. Gustav does blunder around, but not enough to miss being crowned king. As a result, France, England, and Germany invade Sweden hoping to take by force what they could not gain by incompetence.

A small criminal who is reported missing is found murdered in the safe of a known bank manager. While working with the motive behind the murder it is discovered that a large amount of counterfeit shares and bonds are in circulation. Hassel and his colleagues recognize that there are interests in the business community who are involved in the scandal, people who don't shy away from clearing away cumbersome barriers to safeguard their economic power.
Gary's wife goes away for a week and Gary expects a week of hard work at the office. After having left her at the airport, he misses the bus. But the car mechanic Lasse gives him a ride. As always, Sickan has come up with a new plan. This time he wants to rob the IKEA furniture store. During their nightly break-in Sickan discovers that the store is used as a secret smuggling central for sending American computers to the Soviet Union. The computers are picked up by Soviet submarines sneaking into the Swedish archipelago. Naturally, it is their arch enemy Wall-Enberg who is behind all of this.
When the war breaks out, Annika lives with her parents in Värmland, close to the border to Norway. Her cousin Harald is a dealer in the black market but has to escape from the police to Norway. Annika moves to Stockholm and gets a job as a waitress. She meets the happy-go-lucky Berit and together they have a wonderful time. She also meets a young man, Bengt, whom she marries. Magni is a farmer who is planning to marry Teresia who comes from a rich family. When his maid Lovisa finds out she gets furious, she has been working for him without pay for 12 years because of vague allusions to marriage, now she wants her pay! She calculates that her back pay is the same as the fortune Teresia would be bringing to the marriage.
A few conscripts realise that the army has vast resources that don't get used as much as they could. Using army material, they start to do services for people in the neighbourhood. More and more money is exchanged, more and more people gets involved, but when will someone reveal the truth to someoney who they can't pay?
Limpan is an alcoholic who has been put into a caretaking home for alcoholics. He's promised a job on the 'outside', but he's not released from the home, so he runs away. He misses the job and gets caught and is brought back, but they won't accept him, since it's after closing time. During a couple of days, he wanders back and forth between the home and the world, meeting several different people who all have their different problems, which Limpan confronts and all the time, there's the question of alcohol; to drink or not to drink.
Life isn't easy for the indecisive 40-year-old Claes-Henrik. Should he choose his mom or his girlfriend?
In this film Beck and his team are trying to find a serial killer, whose victims are spread all over Sweden. An obvious connection is that all the victims are women, and they were all in the same class, and Beck thinks that a scandal back in the past has something to do with the murders. But no one wants to talk about the past and it becomes a struggle to find the perpetrator before the final murder - only one woman is still alive.
