Gabriel has fought his way out of crime and got his life back on track. But now that their father is dead, Gabriel feels he has a greater responsibility for his little brother, Alex. This time, the children's parents have gone on vacation to New York, and it is up to Uncle Erik to take responsibility for his nephews and nieces, or at least try to. Everything seems to be going well, until Jan and Michael take a little drive in their father's new sports car. The film is based on Christian Kampmann's novels: "Certain Considerations", "Solid Relationships", "Clean Lines" and "Other Ways" (1973-75). The Gregersen family is a picture of inner and outer Denmark from the mid 50's to the 70's. The story begins in 1954 in the well-behaved, but not just successful, Gregersen family from the best part of the whiskey belt on the right side of Strandvejen.

Bo is invited to his friend Martin's bachelor party. As the party unfolds, mysterious events begin to occur. What starts as a wild weekend, spirals into chaos and paranoia.

The drama chronicles the affair between Inger, a young Danish woman from Copenhagen, and Kwame, an illegal immigrant from Ghana, that she meets while volunteering at a homeless shelter. Despite their cultural differences, and the disapproval of Inger’s own mother, the two quickly develop a strong bond and move in together. Everything seems perfect and serendipitous, but then Inger discovers a devastating secret that Kwame has kept hidden.

The dwarf Jacob has a hard time finding true love. He therefore spies on his neighbor, the prostitute Laila.
