An American gangster nicknamed "English Joe" has fled across the Mexican border with his gang, consisting of four men in addition to himself. The American police are after them because of a bank robbery in which they killed several of the bank's employees. But "English Joe" soon comes up with a new plan that can bring them to safety for a while and at the same time give them the opportunity for a new coup. An old engineer who has worked at a weapons factory in Mexico has traveled home to his own country to complete an epoch-making invention: the silent machine gun. The men are ordered to Denmark, where the old engineer now lives.

A marine musical comedy from Denmark. The radio operator, Hjalmar Olsen, lives in Nyboder. He handles all the problems for the Nyboder friends when they are in trouble - on land or at sea, from the sister's heartache with the less real rich man's son, the stoker's daughter's problems with an intrusive man, to a mutiny that breaks out on a foreign ship. Hjalmar is a man of action, who always acts quickly - and cheerfully - well supported by the gallery of brave boys and sailors.

Mona and Carl Johan are having a hard time. They are going to get married, but then Carl Johan is called up to report to the barracks on the wedding night. The girl who moves in is a priest's daughter from Mols and the two girls quickly become good friends. But suddenly it turns out that Grethe from Mols has some very cool friends...

The celebrated actor George Bergmann has four divorces behind him. When his four former wives get the impression that he is cozying up to a very young actress, they feel that they must take action. However, this leads to various misunderstandings and complications, which partly involves the former wives' new men and partly the young girl's strict parents.

Jens and Trille Woller have only been married for six months, and so far they live happily together in their cozy artist's dormitory, where Jens works with a brush and palette in front of his easel, while Trille sits behind her typewriter and writes short stories for the weekly magazines. But that's only so far. They are both very young and very impulsive by nature, and it only takes a trifle for them to get into a fight.

The two friends, Fy and Bi, come wandering along the country road as so many times before without a destination and - without food. In the castle cellar they open a book - and immediately they are back in the exciting events and deadly battles of the 15th century. And again we are back in the castle cellar, where Fy now with a bang closes the dusty, old book, and the two set out on the country road again.

During a hectic taxi ride, a rich engineer loses his gold-plated lucky cane in the middle of Abel’s postal route. The taxi driver later looks for the cane and finds it in Abel’s hands. Maynard touched the lives of musicians around the world in a way that cannot be explained, but celebrated. Trumpet player, friend and personal manager, Steve Schankman worked with Maynard's family and alumni musicians to develop a one of a kind tribute - a true labor of love and a celebration of Maynard's life as one of the greats in jazz history. Held September 20, 2006 at the University of Missouri-St. Louis Touhill Performing Arts Center in St. Louis, this tribute Concert brought together more than 30 alumni artists from Maynard's fifty plus years of entertaining audiences around the world. In a manner of words, the tribute was the ultimate symphony dedicated to a man they called "The Boss". His dedication to education and his pure love of sound made Maynard the kind of performer these musicians strive to be today. He is a beloved hero, entertainer, bandleader, mentor and friend whose legend will live on in every trumpet note.
