Biography
Stefan Kubicki is a Polish and American filmmaker. His debut short, East (Wschód), was the first narrative film to shoot in the Chernobyl Zone. He trained as a cinematographer at the Polish National Film School before earning an MFA in directing from the AFI Conservatory in Los Angeles, where he received the Richard P. Rogers Award, a Student Academy Award nomination, and more than a dozen international festival prizes for Against Night — the story of a cosmonaut haunted by memory. His first feature, Safe Space, was released in 2025.
