Biography
Feliks Falk ps. Robert F. Lane, Edward Neyman (born 25 February 1941) is a Polish film and theater director as well as writer of film scripts, stage plays, television plays, and radio shows. A 1966 graduate of Warsaw's Academy of Fine Arts, he also is a painter and graphic artist. Falk is one of creators of the 1970s wave of Polish cinematography, called Cinema of Moral Anxiety. His most famous films include Wodzirej (Top Dog) (1977) and Samowolka (AWOL) (1993). Falk has won a number of major filmmaking awards. His 1987 film Hero of the Year was entered into the 15th Moscow International Film Festival where it won the FIPRESCI Prize and a Special Prize.

In 1969 a young writer decides to write an essay on a well known Polish writer, who had to leave the country in the 50's, later living, working and dying in exile. He slowly assembles the character and even the exterior appearances of his idol until his own identity tragically disappears.

In the New York apartment of 69-year-old prof. Arendt , 30-year-old Michael Ben Szaked appears, who had previously arranged an interview with her. He introduces himself as a student at the University of Jerusalem, writing a doctorate in philosophy. He is preparing a project to be sent to the university archive and collecting statements of Jewish intellectuals. The starting point is a book by prof. Hanna Arendt's about Eichmann to be published, which caused a real storm not only in Israel, but also around the world.
A Report on the Banality of Love

Set in 1952, film tells the story of young musicians playing - then forbidden - jazz music in basements and attics around Poland. The group hires itself to social parties, youth dances, etc, each time waiting for the management to disappear in order to shift gears to hot music. The crowd either loves it or does not know what to do. Occasionally they are harassed by the police.

Far from the Other

The early 1980s. A former entertainment industry star is now selling leather goods. One day, he watches a TV interview with a department store employee who smelled gas leaking and prevented a tragedy in time. This gives him an idea. With the support of his journalist friend Lutek Danielak, he begins to organize a series of meetings with the "hero of the year" across the country. He hopes that this will help him make a comeback in the industry. The meetings gain momentum. Lutek accepts the offer to host the final "Miss Polonia" contest.
