Directing
A dandy fop who just happens to be great at Kung-Fu, is traveling the countryside in the Hong Kong of old. He has to negotiate a treacherous landscape filled with tricksters and tough guys, and fight a lot of battles in hand-to-hand martial arts combat, in order to be reunited with his lost love. In order to do this, he teams up with a ragtag bunch of orphans.
Cathay Classic, Paul Chang and Melinda Chen star in this melodramatic Wu Xia picture. Sammo Hung is in the first minute or two as a duelist in the tournament and probably directed the fights.
On her way home from Lan Sin Restaurant, Liang Li-chin is horrified to have beheld a man's body inside a private hired-car. But when she explains what she has seen to her fiance Hu Ming-lin at his Red Bat Apartment, she is no longer sure whether it was a drunkard or a corpse. But Hu is arrested by the Police as the suspected murderer of his boss Chia Lei on certain material evidences: a/ Hu's visiting card has been found near the corpse; b/ the scarf which strangled Chia to death belongs to Hu as there are his initials M. L; and c/ he has been seen to have quarreled with Chia. But somehow Hu denies he has killed Chia. Liang now recalls that she has seen a strange figure, a man, that night in the car. She is sure he was not Hu, but the Police Inspector, is not a bit convinced, especially because of her relation with the suspect, Hu. Liang feels she must act fast, if she is going to save her fiance's neck.

Sha Yung (Wang Sha) and Shuang La (Lin Hui-huang), a sly duo with some kung fu skills, make their living through clever schemes. After accumulating a sum of money through less-than-honest means, they venture into the “consultancy” business, which proves to be a thriving enterprise. Their path crosses with Ah Ying (Yang Tsing-tsing), who disguises herself as a man. Upon learning that she is being pursued by her widowed stepmother, Hua (Lo Wan-yin), and Hua’s lover, who conspired to harm Ying’s father, Sha Yung and Shuang La extend their sympathy. Hua employs a professional assassin to attack Ying’s hideout . The two resourceful con-artists assist Yang to resist the assault. Eventually, they capture Hua and her partner in crime, setting the stage for a reckoning with justice.
Yang buys a painting of fox fairy. When he faces the painting and calls "Qing Mei", a fox fairy will get out the painting and stay together with Yang. Yang's parents invite a Taoist to catch the fox, but a vampire appears to kill the Taoist's assistant and seduce Yang. The fox fairy fights the vampire to protect Yang.
