A group of teenagers go on a school camp in the Blue Mountains in Australia. While at the camp, Paul Reynolds accidentally goes into a parallel universe. This other world is inhabited by a more hierarchic and technologically different society, ruled by a group of people known as Spellbinders.
Johnson and Friends is an Australian children’s television programme broadcast on ABC from 12 November 1990 to 25 December 1995. It was produced by Film Australia and lasted seven seasons. In the UK it was shown in the 1993 on TCC, CBBC, and then on UK Living's Tiny Living strand for under-fives. It was aired in the United States as a segment on the Fox Cubhouse, an educational children's program on Fox, from 1993 to 1996.

It is a full-body puppet series aimed at 2-5 year olds. The series was last repeated on ABC1 in January and February 2004. The ABC's Magic Mountain website was removed during September 2010 when the new ABC Kids website was introduced.
