Biography
Ahmed Imamović (born 1971) is a Bosnian film director, film producer and screenwriter. He directed the controversial film Go West and the short film 10 Minutes. Ahmed Imamović was born in Sarajevo in 1971. He graduated Film Directing from the Sarajevo Academy of Performing Arts in 2002. While still studying, he directed several theatrical plays and films, including documentary film Women (1997). During the 1992-1995 war in Sarajevo, as an active member of Sarajevo Group of Authors (SaGA), he worked as cinematographer in numerous documentaries about the war and the Siege of Sarajevo. He collaborated on the production of Ademir Kenović's The Perfect Circle and Michael Winterbottom's Welcome to Sarajevo. His graduation work, short film 10 Minutes, won him the European Film Academy's Best Short Film Award for 2002; Best Short Film Award at Sarajevo Film Festival and many other awards. With 10 Minutes, Ahmed Imamović became one of the most important figures of the Bosnian cinema. In 2005 he made the feature-length fiction film Go West, also shown at numerous festivals around the world.

In the 1990s, the Yugoslavia Federation falls apart in bloody wars. Perpetual student Milan, a Serb from a patriarchal community, and Kenan, a Muslim cellist, are a gay couple living in Sarajevo. Their lives, intimate and public, are shaken up by the aggression in Bosnia and Herzegovina, whose devastating consequences unfold in inter-ethnic hatred.

Zlatan B. is 38, and appears to be hard as a rock and drop-dead gorgeous. He is a respectable gynecologist with no moral dilemmas concerning abortion, if that's what his patients wish and decide to do. He also has no dilemmas in his personal life, because he knows that his wife Vesna and he are in love with the same person - him.
Die Before Death
The film deals with the tragedy of the women survivors of the Srebrenica genocide, or rather, the consequences of the horrors they experienced - it is about women whose sole purpose in life is to locate the bones of their loved ones and give them a decent burial. Fifteen years later, they still want just one simple thing - the truth. As a contrast, the film deals with trivialities of modern living, obsessed with different reality shows...

10 Minutes
This film deals with the atrocities of war as portrayed by a film student who spends some time working as a medic. One of the duties he performed was to carry amputated limbs to the cremation furnace. This is a film about the collective madness that engulfed Sarajevo. A one-armed boy is troubled because he can't make big, firm snowballs; a man who lost both legs demonstrates walking on his stumps... The film and the director's story help us understand the commotion and tumult that have occurred in the minds of Sarajevans.
I Burned Legs
This work is inspired by a truth of Jenny Holzer which says: „When something terrible happens people don't wake up“. This truth is questionable once the scenes from ruined Sarajevo are shown.
