Tommie is the absolute loser in his home district of Cologne-Kalk: no money, no apartment of his own, no girlfriend. In the exhaust workshop where he toils, the foreman is constantly angry with him. But Tommie is in a great mood: The video freak dreams enthusiastically through the fantasy world of film art, preferably with the bust sex star Gianna S. in the leading role. Tommie collects exhaust pipes. When he steals a particularly capital specimen from Jupp's swank Mercedes, he gets into real trouble. He has no choice but to return the exhaust to Jupp, but his deadly ultimatum of procuring a case of the rare beer brand "Ramsdorfer Kölsch" by seven o'clock in the evening proves to be insanely difficult. Because at the very same time, "Gianna S." is expected in town...

The small village of Jamel in the northwest of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania is considered a right-wing extremist stronghold. In the past, neo-Nazis have deliberately moved here. Using right-wing slogans and symbols, they openly claim dominance over the village. In the middle of it all: the artist couple Birgit and Horst Lohmeyer. In search of a rural idyll, the Lohmeyers moved to the village in 2004, underestimating the situation there, where they encountered right-wing extremist thinking and rejection, even threats. Instead of allowing themselves to be driven away, they make a statement against it every year with the "Jamel Rocks the Forester" music festival. After their barn was set on fire, they and their festival received prominent support from the German music scene. The documentary shows that the conditions in the village are not an isolated case and that folkish landgrabs by right-wing extremists are a widespread problem, but also how music can help fight for democracy.
In "What Remains: Die Toten Hosen – The Last Album", director Eric Friedler exclusively follows the iconic rock band over the course of two years as they create their final studio album. Never before has the band allowed themselves to be observed so intimately in the studio. The film crew also goes behind the scenes of a European tour that the band scheduled in between their studio sessions. The result is a moving tribute to a band that has written German music history and continues to inspire generations to this day.

Together with their old friends Gerhard Polt and the Well brothers, Die Toten Hosen went on tour in Germany, Austria and Switzerland in summer 2017. The motto of the concert tour: "In the eye of the eardrum". These rare evenings have cult status, with these free spirits celebrating their friendship on stage and presenting the audience with a wild mixture of quirky humor, rock'n'roll and Bavarian dialect anarchism between improvisation and madness.

In his film "Nichts als die Wahrheit - 30 Jahre Die Toten Hosen" ("Nothing but the truth - 30 years Die Toten Hosen"), established documentary filmmaker Eric Friedler succeeds at presenting an interior view of a band that evolved from an enfant terrible to a pop culture icon and whose work mirrors German history. Friedler takes the audience on a two-hour long roller coaster ride about success and failures.
Back in 2005, we put our guitar amps away for the first time and released “Nur zu Besuch – Unplugged im Wiener Burgtheater,” a recording of an all-acoustic concert. We had an incredible time during those evenings at the Burgtheater—and even during the rehearsals leading up to them—and many fans and friends celebrated these new, fresh takes on familiar classics. So it was only a matter of time before we treated ourselves to that kind of fun again.
Shortly after their formation in Easter 1982, the Düsseldorf punk band "Die Toten Hosen" lead the Stasi around by the nose: the musicians Campino, Andi, Breiti, Kuddel and Trini give a secret concert in a church, in the middle of what was then East Germany.
