Vruć vetar is one of the most popular Yugoslav TV miniseries that aired in 1980. The show and movie cut from scenes of the show were popular in neighboring countries-also very popular in Czechoslovakia. Its main theme became very popular and enjoying a bit of a cult status. The story follows Shurda, a man in his 30s, who comes from a small town to Belgrade to get rich. However, as no job is good enough for him, he tries his luck in Germany, but this venture proves to be the same, so he returns to his native Yugoslavia.

Jelena and dr Mirkovic realize that their relationship is not just fulfilling the party's task of better maintenance of the illegal press. When Mirkovic joined partisans, one of the illegal fighters didn't endure interrogation of the police and reveals the pressroom's location. Jelena manages to save herself and the press continues its work.

Continuing their exploits against the Yugoslav National Liberation Army, the Ballists attack an echelon of wounded warriors led by Dr. M. He takes the wounded to a nearby town. Aware that the justice is on the side of Doctor M., Ramadan, son of one of the Ballist leaders, joins him and contributes to defeat of the Ballists.

The director of the company gives up his New Year's prize trip to the Balearic Islands to a deserving clerk, Milorad Petrović. The trip is for two people, but Milorad is separating from his wife, has no friends, and has never taken a vacation, which leads to his problems. He also fails to notice a female colleague who likes him as a woman. The story gains a special charm as it unfolds in the atmosphere of the New Year's festivities.
