Blacklisted in modern day WW2, a Swedish oil trader opts to assist British Allies, by means of infiltrating and surveying Nazi Germany.

In the square of an unnamed Danish town, we follow a number of people as they go about their daily business, big and small: The police officer tries to find out whether the Christmas tree seller has a "permit" to sell Christmas trees, the bicycle repairman invents a new kind of bicycle, the baker's assistant and the chimney sweep are in love, and the barber is working on a rug made of hair. Meanwhile, the Christmas tree seller sits carving small wooden figures and talking to everyone who passes by. The dramatic main story is that a modern entrepreneur wants to tear down all the old buildings in the square and replace them with a modern parking lot. Each section ends with the characters gathering around Ella's hot dog stand and singing along with the courtyard musicians.

A group of better-off thirty-somethings meet for a weekend in Knud and Beth's home. The host couple is prone to bickering regularly. The married couples (Jan and Ilse, and Kjeld and Tove) that are visiting understand and try to stay out of the way. In this Danish suspense film, the foibles of the psychological helping professions are wryly surveyed. A woman has murdered her husband. That's clear enough. Now the woman is in a psychiatric hospital because it seemed clear to the judges that she was not fully competent. Her doctor, who is helping her a great deal, has problems of his own. First, he is against the cookie-cutter treatment practices of his hospital, second, he is on shaky mental ground himself. Then he violates his therapeutic ethics by carrying on an affair with the woman he is treating.

When the Swedes occupy a Danish manor house, Svend Poulsen decides to help the family to safety. Along the way, Ib is taken prisoner. Svend Poulsen and his gang pretend to be a platoon of Swedish soldiers arriving at the castle where Ib is chained to the roof. During dinner that evening, the Swedish commander becomes suspicious, and soon the soldiers are fighting each other. However, Svend manages to free Ib.

A portrayal of two modern young men and their experiences of love. Jack, a sociology student, is in a relationship with Betty, who is somewhat older than him. It develops into a passionate love affair, but in the long run, the age difference and especially Betty's upper-class background weigh too heavily. Jack's friend, the cynical journalist Hugo, has casual relationships with several girls until he falls in love with the model Ruth. However, she returns to her husband, and when Hugo later has his face disfigured in a car accident, he ends up committing suicide. Before doing so, he tells Jack that he and several others have also had relationships with Betty.

In this romantic drama, Niels (Jens Osterholm) is a petty thief and irresponsible lout who meets Lone (Yvonne Ingdal), a hospital lab assistant who is just the opposite of Niels. The two meet, fall in love, and must learn the old adage that opposites attract. The unenviable Niels and the model citizen Lone are helpless to fight their passionate chemistry when they are together.
