From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia David Bennent (born September 9, 1966) is a Swiss actor. He was born in Lausanne, Switzerland. His parents are actor Heinz Bennent and former dancer Diane Mansart. His sister Anne is also an actress. He has lived in Germany and France as well as Switzerland and speaks fluent French and English. When he was 12 he starred in The Tin Drum, which caused much controversy because David was allegedly shown in sex scenes with an adult. Aged 19, he starred as Honeythorn Gump in the movie Legend, co-starring alongside Tom Cruise and Mia Sara. Bennett has appeared in such plays as Peer Gynt (2004), Die Juden (2003), Michael Kramer (2003), and A Midsummer Night's Dream (2002). Der Kommissar is a German television series about a group of detectives of the Munich homicide squad. All 97 episodes, which were shot in black-and-white and first broadcast between 1969 and 1976, were written by Herbert Reinecker and starred Erik Ode as Kommissar Herbert Keller. Keller's assistants were Walter Grabert, Robert Heines, and Harry Klein who, in 1974, was replaced by his younger brother Erwin Klein.
