A deep investigation, in the way of a poetic essay, on one of the main Latin American movements in cinema, analyzed via the thoughts of its main authors, who invented, in the early 1960s, a new way of making movies in Brazil, with a political attitude, always near to people's problems, that combined art and revolution.

The film tells the story of Luiz Antônio, a clumsy radio host, who unexpectedly finds himself in charge of a bankrupt radio station. Relying only on his passion for rock'n'roll and a crazy team, he creates one of the most emblematic radio stations in the history of Brazilian rock, Fluminense FM. Among guitar solos and radio signal interferences, we follow the adventures misadventures of Luiz.

It is the history of this friendship, which went beyond real life and penetrated art and the battle for the valorization of popular culture, that our project dives into. “Welcome to Maracanã" is a documentary about the transformation over the last 20 years of the world-famous soccer stadium: Maracanã, once the largest stadium on the planet. Through the eyes of Enéas de Andrade, the man who carried injured players onto the soccer field, we see how public policies and major sporting events, such as the 2014 World Cup and 2016 Olympics, have changed the way Brazilians experience soccer games.
