Metin is a small time hustler in a Stockholm suburb, filled with big dreams but bogged down by the circular world of street crime. Things change when his secret diary becomes a hot item for a posh book publisher, and Metin must decide if he's really up to the challenge that is leaving his criminal life behind.
Snacka om nyheter was the Swedish version of the BBC series Have I Got News for You, broadcast by Sveriges Television. It was first broadcast on March 5, 1995 on TV2 and hosted by Stellan Sundahl. On February 22, 1999, Stellan Sundahl died, days after taping an episode that was shown the day before he died. The show was put on hiatus and the three remaining episodes were replaced by commemorative programmes. The show returned in November 2000 and was hosted by Sven Melander who would continue hosting it until the show's cancellation. The last programme was broadcast on December 21, 2003. Snacka om nyheter took many rounds from the British original, including the "Film Round", "Tabloid Headlines", "Odd One Out", "Missing Words" and "Caption Competition". Other elements borrowed from Have I Got News for You were the opening that included the phrase "Good evening and welcome to Snacka om nyheter" followed by a punch-line and the three "news reports" in the beginning as well as the humorous delivery of the scores. In 2008 the show began airing again, this time on Kanal 9, hosted by Kajsa Ingmarsson and produced by Jarowskij.

A paparazzi photographer gets brutally murdered in Stockholm. His apartment is searched and the computer together with photo equipment is missing.
The journalist Alf Mattson gets thoroughly drunk at his birthday party, where his wife announces that she intends to divorce him. He is knocked down on the street and is later carried home by a friend. The next day he is to fly to Budapest in order to make a report for the Stockholm television. Mattson disappears in Budapest.

When they find out Veden was a gambler with heavy debts battling his addiction the case leads Martin Beck, Gunvald Larsson and freshly returned Lena Klingström into Sweden's illegal gambling scene. And Veden was planning to expose his own addiction and his party's huge financial profits from gambling in a confessional book - which his political allies got wind of via illegal data theft. With several people having an interest that Veden stays missing the team tries to find the politician and the true perpetrator while Beck is grappling privately with his ambivalent feelings about working with ex Lena again....
