Clara Kimball Young stars as Mary Saurin, a British gentlewoman who journeys to South Africa to visit her district-commissioner brother Dick (Henry Woodward). Falling in love with Kinsella, Mary agrees to marry him, but he is apparently killed in a native uprising.
