In this action film, a courageous test pilot works with experimental aircraft for the US Armed Forces. When an important airplane manufacturer dies, his daughter is left to run the company. The company seems to be producing dangerous prototypes, so the woman decides to close the company.
In France during World War I, a charming farm girl keeps a squadron of English pilots in good spirits as best as she can. She falls for a handsome newcomer who is already engaged.
When World War I comes to an end, three pilots find themselves on hard times. They wind up in Hollywood, where they work as stunt fliers for a sadistic director.
Two men quarrel about the design of an aircraft engine and go their separate ways, each attempting to prove the other wrong by winning an aircraft race with his own version of the design. The son of one of the men, who has been serving in the Air Mail Service, goes to work for his father's rival and falls in love with the rival's daughter. The children together design an engine incorporating elements from both of the rival designs and enter it in the air race, easily winning. The children's love and accomplishments reunite their parents.
