Synopsis
Debut directorial effort from Moloy Mukherjee, co-writer of Ashish Avikunthak’s 2007 feature Nirakar Chhaya (Shadows Formlesss). Mukherjee’s film is an urban Kolkata film and placed at the center of it’s intriguing narrative play is a young man interacting with people from, and finding his way through, various class and social locations. There is a focus on conversations around cultural politics and sexual politics in the city. The intriguing style with its many rough edges, possibly emerging from the ‘Cinema of Prayoga’ conversations, allows for something of the located experiences it seeks to record to come through.
