Follow the Sun
Synopsis
Follow the Sun is an observational documentary about refugees making their way across Mexico. Embedded at a migrant shelter, emerging Mexican-American filmmaker, JoeBill Muñoz, captures the liminal moments of a group of men caught in-between grave danger and the hopes of a better life. Follow the Sun was released by NBC and nominated for a student award by the IDA. Muñoz is currently an associate producer on a documentary with the Center for Investigative Reporting in collaboration with Gabriela Cowperthwaite. He is also producing a documentary about the largest hunger strike in US history. Sundance Ignite 2021
