In Pietrasanta all are excited for the annual party of summer end. Here we find four characters: Merigo, a naive guy passionate of bike; Pierre, son of the mayor; Simone, a pestiferous kid; Mario, lifeguard of "Bagnomaria".

Un père désespéré se fait passer pour une femme sur Internet pour renouer avec son fils dont il est séparé, mais les choses se compliquent lorsque le jeune homme veut la rencontrer en personne.

Dick Harper, cadre supérieur de l'industrie spatiale est brutalement licencié. Les allocations chomage lui sont bientot supprimées, et malgré une restriction de leur train de vie, Dick et sa femme Jane, se retrouvent vite sans ressources. Antonio (Totò), ancien acteur de variétés, garde sa fille dans un excellent internat en organisant de petites escroqueries avec son ami et collègue Felice (Taranto). De bonne humeur, l'inspecteur Malvasia (Calindri) le persécute. Lorsque leurs enfants respectifs sans méfiance tombent amoureux, les deux pères font la paix.

De retour de la guerre, Don Pédro et ses fidèles compagnons d’armes, Bénédict et Claudio, rendent visite au seigneur Léonato, gouverneur de Messine. Dans sa demeure, les hommes vont se livrer à une autre guerre. Celle de l’amour. Et notamment celle qui fait rage entre Béatrice et Bénédict, que leur entourage tente de réconcilier tout en essayant de déjouer les agissements malfaisants de Don Juan.

Les épisodes dressent un portrait critique de la société italienne, décrivant les italiens comme des personnes paresseuses, désorganisées et incompétentes. La critique devient de plus en plus acerbe au fil des épisodes.
