After the coup d'état on September 12, 1980, a husband and wife wanted for political crimes decide to flee abroad. But their children are the biggest obstacle to this plan. Before fleeing abroad, they search for a safe place to leave their children. The couple finally chooses Mehtap Anne's home as the "safest place" for their children. The place where they left their children is actually the "Emanetçi Anne" house, where Mehtap, a former prostitute, takes in the children of other prostitutes who continue to work in the trade after she has left it... Some time after the couple flees abroad, they send an Italian girl to Turkey to retrieve their children. The Italian girl, who wants to take the child left with the "Emanetçi Anne" and bring it to its parents, finds herself caught up in a series of interesting events.

En 1969, à Paris, Paul, un jeune Américain, souhaite devenir cinéaste. Il projette de tourner un journal filmé, façon "cinéma vérité", de sa propre vie.Pour le moment, Paul est monteur sur Dragonfly, un long métrage de science-fiction dont l'action se déroule en 2001 : la belle Valentine joue l'héroïne, toute de cuir rose vêtue. Le metteur en scène de Dragonfly est un "auteur" extravagant. Sa passion pour Valentine affecte son jugement, notamment en ce qui concerne la fin du film.Ecoeuré, Enzo, le producteur, renvoie le cinéaste et engage, pour le remplacer, un jeune et arrogant prodige de la mise en scène, Felix De Marco. Paul est jaloux du succès de ce dernier, mais suite à un accident de voiture, Felix se retire.Enzo fait alors appel à Paul pour sauver le tournage du film. Malgré sa peur, celui-ci accepte.

Jane (Renée Zellweger), une ex-chanteuse devenue handicapée à la suite d'un accident, reçoit des nouvelles de son fils. En effet, Devon reprend contact avec sa mère car il souhaite l'inviter à sa communion. Malgré les craintes de Jane de retrouver son fils après des années et de faire face à son passé, son ami Joey (Forest Whitaker) arrive à la convaincre d'entreprendre ce périple à travers les Etats Unis. C'est au cours de ce voyage et des rencontres qu'ils feront sur la route que Jane composera sa plus belle chanson d'amour.

The landowner (Agha) of the Haraptar village marries off his old father with the young and beautiful Kiraz. But on the nuptial night, his father dies and everything starts to go bad for the Agha.
