A Day After a Hundred Years

This short film visualizes potential human exploration of the Solar System through a sequence of digitally reconstructed environments based on real astronomical data and spacecraft imagery. Depicting locations such as Mars, the moons of Saturn and Jupiter, and other celestial bodies, it presents speculative human activity grounded in existing scientific ideas, accompanied by narration from Carl Sagan’s "Pale Blue Dot".

Federation trooper Johnny Rico is ordered to work with a group of new recruits on a satellite station on Mars, where giant bugs have decided to target their next attack.

Set against the backdrop of a postapocalyptic Earth whose Eastern Hemisphere was destroyed by a massive solar flare, leaving what life remains mutated from radiation and fallout. The story revolves around a group of treasure hunters who extract such objects as the Mona Lisa, the Rosetta Stone and the Crown Jewels while facing rival hunters, mutants and pirates.

The troopers of two starships have joined forces to terminate a massive bug attack at a Federation outpost. But what they find are giant mutated humanoid cockroaches with incredible physical strength. The crew members are easily wiped out, but not before sending a transmission back to Earth. Now, humanity will send elite warriors to exterminate the mutated bugs and claim back Mars.

One year after the events of the anime, Rintarou begins to feel the repercussions of extensive time travel, and eventually completely fades from reality. Kurisu, being the only companion to remember him, now must find a way to bring him back.
