Littlefoot and his friends find life in the Great Valley a bit too restrictive under the watchful eyes of their overprotective parents. Wishing to not be treated like babies anymore, the group chase after a pair of dangerous dinosaurs stealing an egg from Ducky's nest. When the egg they bring back hatches in the valley, the friends are surprised to find a baby Sharptooth. Rather than abandoning him, they name him Chomper and attempt to raise him as one of their own.

In a time when dinosaurs rule the Earth, the smallest dinosaur of the herd, a playful Pachyrhinosaurus named Patchi, embarks on the biggest adventure of his life. This Lost World is a splendid BBC TV dramatisation of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's famous adventure story. Bob Hoskins makes an unusually genial Professor Challenger, far less of a bully than Doyle's character, but his slightly stereotyped companions are nicely filled out by a solid cast. James Fox is Challenger's more timid but still covertly adventurous rival, Tom Ward is the moustachioed big game hunter who faces an Allosaurus with an elephant gun, and Matthew Rhys plays the tagalong reporter hoping to impress his faithless fiancée.
