Mafia et République
Synopsis
This documentary series examines the nefarious ties that bound Corsican mobsters to politicians of all stripes across three generations. Blending archival footage with insights from historians, journalists, magistrates, and witnesses—including Barthélemy Guerini’s daughter, Étienne Léandri’s confidant, and Loïk Le Floch-Prigent—it dissects the murky mechanisms (favors exchanged for immunity) that enabled a little-known yet all-powerful criminal organization to expand globally and infiltrate the corridors of power.
