Summer Light
Synopsis
A severe recession has swept through a downtown district filled with small factories. On the second floor of a small factory that manufactures electrical components, high school student Hiromi lives with her father, Yuichiro, the factory's accountant; her mother, Yoko; the factory owner, Kida; and two employees, Tetsuo and Seiji. One day, overwhelmed by the factory's financial troubles, Yuichiro leaves behind a suicide note asking that the proceeds from his life insurance policy be used to pay off the factory's debts, and takes his own life.
