Kubusa
Synopsis
Sankamu is a woman of the earth. An elderly stonecutter who finds rhythm and purpose in the strike of her hammer, she lives a life of quiet dignity in her rural village. But when her son, Basappa, insists on moving her to the city to provide her with a "better life," her world is upended. Caught between the concrete walls of an urban apartment and her deep-rooted connection to the land, Sankamu struggles to hold onto her identity. Kubusa is a poignant exploration of the dignity of labor, the weight of tradition, and the heartbreaking reality that "comfort" can sometimes feel like a cage.
