Taking place at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois, this is the 33rd annual event under the Survivor Series chronology. This is the first time in the history of the event that the NXT brand will be featured.

As the Avengers and their allies have continued to protect the world from threats too large for any one hero to handle, a new danger has emerged from the cosmic shadows: Thanos. Murphy is the sole survivor of his crew, that has been massacred by a German U-Boat in the closing days of World War II. He wishes to sink the U-Boat by means of any method imaginable to him, and sets about to make the courageous attempt, assisted by Louis, the administrator of the local oil company.

The annual beginning of the Road to WrestleMania featured Drew McIntyre defending his WWE Championship against Goldberg, Kevin Owens facing "The Head of the Table" Roman Reigns in a Last Man Standing Match for the Universal Championship, and of course, the annual Men's and Women's Royal Rumble Matches that determined who will headline the Showcase of the Immortals.
