A compilation of over 30 years of private home movie footage shot by Lithuanian-American avant-garde director Jonas Mekas, assembled by Mekas "purely by chance", without concern for chronological order.

Des paysans en état d’ébriété chantent et dansent au son d'un accordéon tandis que des enfants, pionniers du village collent des affiches vantant les mérites des coopératives. Les pionniers Latichev et Kopchouchka vont en ville contrôler le marché. La mère de Kopchouchka après avoir constaté, chez le marchand privé, que la viande est trop chère, repart en reculant jusqu'à la coopérative. Puis on voit (toujours par inversion du sens de déroulement du film) des morceaux de boeuf à l'étalage retourner à l'abattoir et reconstituer le boeuf à la campagne. De même par marche arrière on part d'un pain chez le boulanger et on remonte jusqu'au champ de blé. Les komsomols de la ville arrivent à la campagne pour aider aux travaux des champs et à l'entretien des machines.
